A day in the Life...

In researching my chosen area, I came across a series of episodes on youtube. 'A Day in the Life: Za'artri Refugee Camp' is a seven episode documentary that shows you the ins and outs of the 8.5km round camp. It gave me interesting insights in what the people there are having to deal with and their daily struggles.

I felt like it was important to understand what these individuals had to endure through and what they now have to wake up to everyday. Millions of people have left their home to escape conflict. Families are so concerned that they would willingly travel 2 weeks through the desert to reach the Refugee Camp. Since the camp has been active, the people have turned the camp into a city with multiple communities and districts within.

It is comforting to know that in a bad situation, they were able to pick themselves up and make the most of what they have. These ideas are important to take on board as I start thinking about what kind of learning space I will want to be creating.
